Scolari and EA team up for Football Academy DS

Football Academy DS

EA has signed up Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari to be its Academy Master in forthcoming ‘interactive football gaming experience’ Football Academy, due out on DS across Europe on 20th March.

Big Phil will be on hand to offer advice on how to broaden your knowledge of the beautiful game. Presumably someone else takes over for the ‘team spirit’ section, while rumours on whether blowing into the touchscreen causes Drogba to hurl himself to the floor have yet to be substantiated.

The title features a series of minigames, and a reported ninety hours of playtime before you can class yourself as a true football expert - that’s how long it will take most players to collect each and every Academy Badge, by which time you’ll be as clued-up as Scolari himself. With success in the minigames rewarding you with new players to add to your squad, you then have to maximise team chemistry by improving your Football IQ so your players respect you more, rather than whingeing when they’re left on the bench. Eh, Nicolas?

You’ll also be able to compete online against pals, pitting your wits against theirs over Nintendo WFC by picking your ideal team to hopefully hand out a beating. No, not THAT type of beating, Mr. Bosingwa.
