VG247.com is reporting that a French Wii site - this one here - has managed to get its hands on a leaked release schedule for Activision, which contains a listing for a Wii game titled Indiana Jones and the Sceptre of Kings.

(Well it’s a better name than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.)

Anyway, little if anything is known about the game so far, but this could go one of two ways - either a whip-cracking actioner, with the remote snapped forward whenever Indy needs to use his bullwhip, or an old-school point-and-click adventure in the style of the rugged hero’s Lucasarts text adventures.

While the former would indeed be a pleasant surprise, I’m pinning my hopes on the latter, if only because the Wii seems better suited to that kind of thing rather than a traditional licensed game. And besides, if it were an action-adventure, why wouldn’t it be on 360 and PS3?
