Japanese Sales - week ending 28th December

Rhythm Heaven

A slow week in Japan in some ways - the top ten features no new entries at all, but then again, the tenth-place game shifted an impressively healthy 57,000 copies, so it’s not all bad. First-party Nintendo product dominates; Animal Crossing should have shifted a million units by next week, Kirby DS is the barest smidge under that very figure while Wii Fit is now over three million copies.

And then there’s top-ten staple Rhythm Tengoku Gold. Surely even Nintendo’s most optimistic sales estimates couldn’t have seen the musical sequel from topping a million and a half by the year’s end. Hearteningly, rumours suggest we’ll be seeing localisation Rhythm Heaven around April time, backed up by the release of the game’s western boxart (above).
