Surprisingly, the first verdict doesn’t come from one of the official Nintendo mags, but unofficial UK-based publication NRevolution - the latest issue of which dropped onto subscribers’ doormats this morning. It gets 9/10, with the review concluding that it’s “a lovely game for the right people. It may not appeal to more hardcore gamers, but for anyone else it’s excellent”.

Anyone hoping for any fresh info, however, will be a little disappointed that there’s nothing about the game’s new features we haven’t heard before - I was hoping to find out that all we’ve been shown so far is just the beginning of the new stuff and that Nintendo has some surprises up its sleeve, but there’s nothing in the critique to suggest that might be the case. Perhaps we’ll know more when more reviews start rolling in, which should be sometime very soon - the game’s US launch is next week, so I expect the big US sites will be giving us their opinions soon enough.
