Grindhouse Of The Dead - Sega unveils brand-new Wii-exclusive shooter

Brilliant trailer, even better boxart (after the break). Let’s hope House Of The Dead: Overkill is as good as the promotional effort so far, because if so, we’re all in for a zombie-zapping treat.

Yes, it turns out Headstrong Games’ reinvention of a familiar Sega franchise isn’t Jet Set Radio after all, but a brand spanking new House of the Dead game. It’s not based on any arcade version, but is instead a total original, set before the events of the first game, documenting the legendary G’s first days as a secret agent. You MUST watch the trailer above - campy, funny and schlocky, it captures the grindhouse feel perfectly, and is incredibly fitting for a series that’s never taken itself entirely seriously.

With MadWorld, Dead Rising: Chop ‘Til You Drop and now this, it seems Wii is the place to go if you like yuks to go with your yuck.

Some provisional boxart can be found after the break, and is equally worthy of your perusal. Go!

House of the Dead: Overkill’s boxart of win

Perfect. Just perfect. Roll on early 2009, when this li’l beauty gets released.

Looks pretty good & by the looks of it, it still has that old arcade feel. Nice one Sega :)

    Holy ****.

Excuse my language. That trailer is awesome. Ah, reminds me of the days when people still went to arcades to play House of the Dead etc. Those were the days…

Oh Yes, good old days. I remember when me and my mate went of hoilday & house of the dead 2 was only 20p, we still spent about £25 Lol. But this trailer is pretty damn awesome.
