Today on WiiWare - Pop & My Pokemon Ranch
ÂÂ
Two games released at midnight last night, then - about an hour before my drunken neighbour demolished my back gate, prompting me to think I was being burgled (but that’s a story for another time). Nnooo’s delayed Pop - which the US has had since launch - and My Pokemon Ranch are what you get, but only one of the two is worth bothering with.
The former is a bubble-popping shooter that’s undeniably shallow and repetitive but quite entertaining. With an interesting chaining system, online leaderboards, and Achievement-like medals, it’s well worth the 700 points. Oh, and Chill mode is great for relaxing to before bed, or first thing in the morning when you’re barely able to lift the remote. Nice music, too.
My Pokemon Ranch, on the other hand, is rubbish. N64-quality visuals (and that’s not even an exaggeration), a worrying lack of things to do, and not nearly enough connectivity with Diamond and Pearl, this is recommended to only the most insanely obsessive Poke-freaks among you. In which case, you’ve probably downloaded it already. With your US Wii that you bought purely to get the game a bit earlier. You weirdo.
Oh, and that My Life As A King DLC is now available to PAL players, too. Which you should all buy if you want a village as aesthetically-pleasing and culturally sophisticated as mine. *smug face*
