A new Moon rises - Rune Factory 2 on its way

Rune Factory 2 - more monster-recruitin’, soil-tillin’, crop-growin’ funRune Factory 2 - lush graphics once more, no?

Well, the first Rune Factory hasn’t reached Europe yet, but Natsume today announced the forthcoming release of Rune Factory 2 this Autumn.

The first was one of the best Harvest Moon titles yet, introducing an RPG-like monster-slaying element to the traditional farming. The mix worked, and so it’s not surprising to see a follow up, particularly as “the first Rune Factory title was a great success for us and our fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel”, according to Natsume CEO Hiro Maekawa.

The hook this time? An all-new story, for starters, but also the promise of a multigenerational take on things. “Players begin the game as Kyle, a strange man who comes to Alvarna Village. Eventually, players will take on the role of Kyle’s child, opening up a whole new adventure. It’s an innovative feature that allows players to follow the story of their family and the townsfolk over two generations!”

Twice as long as your average Moon then? You’ll be playing until Christmas 2009 at this rate.
