They’re making a Wii game out of that “Juno” film

Juno for Wii?No idea what Juno is about. It looks like it’s a film “for girls” who are “coming of age” judging by the TV advert, so news that it’s being made into a game is something of a surprise.

The odd revelation came from a lecture at the 2008 DICE Summit, which is where lots of serious people get together to work out better ways of taking money off children through video gaming.

“People are making a game based on Juno just to cater to the [casual] market,” said ex-Eidos man Keith Boesky, who has the rather awesome career-designation of “intellectual-property migration specialist.”

The rumour has also been guaranteed as 100% TRUE thanks to appearing on bizarre games industry rumour blog Surfer Girl, which has a rather decent hit rate when it comes to educated guessing. Surfer Girl called the Juno game the “most realistic teenage pregnancy simulation to date” - which is presumably a joke. It’s hard to tell.

Especially as he/she then went on to say the game doesn’t exist at all. Surfer Girl’s one of the oddest places on the web. It’s like a blog version of Lost.

Juno is an awesome film, not just for “girls coming of age. It wouldn’t work as a game though so this rumour is probably not true, or someone’s gone nuts.

Juno is a GREAT film. Nominated for a number of Academy Awards this year and it DEFINITELY NOT a “girls” film. It is laugh out loud funny! I highly recommend it! I don’t think it would translate into a game though, although how many films do that WELL anyway?!

I saw it today, it is indeed an excellent film. I cried at the ending.

Not sure what to say to that. Must have been a good film.

I am a member of a private forum for industry professionals, some of whom have admitted that secret stuff has leaked out this way. And others have pointed out where these blogs can be very mistaken. So don’t take them as gospel.
