Flower power comes to Brawl with Captain Olimar
After a long wait, another Smash Bros. Brawl character has been announced, and unless you’re psychic or consider yourself a smartarse, it’s the one person we’d never have expected: Captain Olimar from the Pikmin games. Whuh-whuh-wha-!?
Olimar, in case you didn’t know, is an anagram of the Japanese way of writing Mario, a small astronaut with a large nose. Much like the Pokemon Trainer, he relies on backup to aid him in the melee, only he takes what looks like a more direct approach. His petal-headed Pikmin chums will be budding to do his bidding, powering up his attacks to Smash level. They’re a little weedy (flowery if you will), so don’t expect them to last long in the fray, however.
The Dojo’s being coy about how exactly this relationship will control, and whether the player will require some deft hand magic to manoeuvre all these characters at once. Expect an update from them soon. As for now, that’s the last of the empty character slots filled. Should we really be expecting another challenger, or do you think that’s it as far as they’re concerned?
