Activison acts on Guitar Hero 3 mono moan

Publishers aren’t all evil cash-grabbing loons who froth at the mouth at a low Game Rankings score. Somewhere in there is a heart of gold. Or at least a heart that wants to fix an embarrassing blunder on their part.

In other words, Activision have kindly said that they’ll be replacing all faulty Wii Guitar Hero 3 discs free of charge. If you’ll recall, Activision made a boo-boo and released the Wii version in mono sound. Not a one of us could enjoy Welcome to the Jungle in glorious surround sound, and since a patch seemed unlikely, we’d resigned ourselves to grumbling discontentedly and getting on with it. How things change. Hurrah to Activision (you incompetent buffoons)!

For those put off from buying GH3 for Wii, the new discs won’t be out until early 2008. Those who already own it, keep an eye on the Guitar Hero website for news of when you’ll be able to swap your disc.
