Determined not to leave the Wii Zapper gathering dust after Ghost Squad, Sega have dug around in their history sack and confirmed the release of two more lightgun games from their distant past: a compilation of House of the Dead 2 and 3.

It’s yet another example of Sega raiding their Dreamcast (that’s game 2, we mean) archive for titles to be ported over to the Wii. You would think the better course of action would be to release them on the Virtual Console. Oh no, wait, there’s no room. Sigh. Never mind.

Anyway, the answer to why they didn’t stick the first game in there eludes us for now. We’re also sad that, now keyboard compatibility has been confirmed for the Wii, the eccentric Typing of the Dead isn’t on there either. Still, we loved number 2, the third (the shotgun one) a little bit less, so we welcome the opportunity. In theory - we’ve already played it a million times ourselves.
