Famitsu scores Mario Galaxy - really great, but not as good as 64
If you’ve been biting your nails, worrying that Super Mario Galaxy might be a failure after Sunshine’s slight detour from past glories, then a) you’re a cold, hard pessimist, and b) you need worry no more. Famitsu have revealed their definitive verdict: a big fat 38/40.
No, it’s not the full 40/40 that Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker got, and it didn’t beat Super Mario 64’s 39, but it’s still mighty impressive. Using our electronic Japanese-English dictionary to translate, that gives a UK mag score of 92%. Cue people commenting that it doesn’t count because Famitsu’s sold out these days, you cold, hard pessimists, you.
