How about this? Japan’s JOYSOUND chain of karaoke houses is teaming up with Hudson to deliver a Wii-based karaoke system. Karaoke software will be downloadable via WiiWare some time during 2008, with a complementary starter pack — including a USB microphone and a couple of discs full of karaoke backing tracks for J-pop, enka, and kids’ songs — planned for launch alongside the base WiiWare JOYSOUND software. The initial range of songs will be focused on those three genres, but there’s every chance we’ll get our Elvis and Nirvana via top-up discs or WiiWare downloads as play progresses. Pity our neighbours!
