Mario’s motivation - new Super Mario Galaxy website brings intro video
OMG! Spoilers (of a sort)! If, like us, you need some sort of motivation in your games before you set off on collect-a-thons and fetch quests, Nintendo have done the decent thing and posted the gorgeous-looking intro video to Super Mario Galaxy on their recently launched Japanese website. It didn’t take long for someone to stick it on YouTube, and here it is now for your pleasure.
As usual, it’s about as shallow as the Beckham’s paddling pool. We’d expect nothing less. Bowser attacks Mario’s Toad-filled hood with a fleet of flying pirate ships. Dodging the deadly fireballs, Mario tries to reach Princess Peach in her castle to rescue her, where he ends up getting sucked off. Into space. Along with Princess Peach and her castle. And then banished by Magikoopa. Yes. Did we really mangle this plot-driven paragraph to wedge in some very poor innuendo? YES WE DID.
