Time to stop being so Goofy and start giving a Donald Duck; there’s a new Kingdom Hearts games coming to DS, and it’s definitely not a Mickey Mouse title. Disney puns stop now.

Stringing along the bizzarrest subtitle we’ve seen in a while, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, promises full four-player simultaneous co-op, Crystal Chronicles-style, presumably via Wi-Fi. You’ll be stepping into the over-sized cartoon shoes of Roxas, Sora’s Heartless counterpart from Organisation XIII and his companions in a game set somewhere between the time of Kingdom Hearts I and II. 358/2’s gameworld promises to be fully 3D, with combat in real-time, a step up from the card-based system used in the previous KH handheld game, Chain of Memories.

This is only one of three games coming out soon, with a PSP and mobile title both in the works, although no word on Kingdom Hearts 3 just yet. Of course, naturally, this is a Square Enix game so we’d expect nothing less than for them to milk that cash cow dry with endless spin-offs instead of what we really want. Can this be more than a niche title?
