Force Unleashed confirmed on Wii - swing that Wiimote like a lightsaber, young Jedi

Vrr-shhhuummm. Vwoom. Krktk. Vrr-shuummmm. The noise of a lightsaber in action. Or at least, the noise of someone attempting to do the onomatopoeic noise of a lightsaber in action. All in order to announce the confirmation of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on Wii. Long rumoured, much anticipated, gamers have wanted to handle the Wiimote like a Jedi Knight ever since they clapped eyes on its shape, and now Lucasarts have answered our Yoda-filled prayers. Let’s just hope it improves somewhat on Red Steel’s early experiments. And makes that shuumm noise from the speaker whenever we swish it.
The Wii version will be handled by Australian dev team, Krome Studios, who cut their teeth on the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series amongst others. As well as the standard force powers, with the main game taking place between Episodes III and IV, the Wii will have an exclusive duel mode for battling, a little like the PC’s old Jedi Knight games (we hope). Our only concern is that there hasn’t been a decent Star Wars game since Knights of the Old Republic (if you don’t count Lego Star Wars, of course. Republic Commando was alright as well). We think, though, now that the ashes are beginning to settle on the new movie trilogy travesty, we’re in for a quality renaissance for all thing Star Wars game. The fingers on our prosthetic hand are firmly crossed.
