More evidence of old-timers and videogames
We’ve covered this in the past, but as long as the mass media keeps running stories about old folk getting their kicks, we’re going to keep blogging about it. And besides, the image on the left was just toooo cute. Doesn’t it make you want to phone up your granny and exchange Wii codes?
This latest story is courtesy of The Sun, who sent a journalist into a retirement home in Birmingham. They’ve come back with the earth-shattering revelation that residents as old as 103 have given up boring pursuits like knitting and playing bridge and are now hooked on playing Wii Sports. Also, the journalist couldn’t resist making a lame pun about the “Nan-tendo Wii”. Sigh.
Apparently, the old-timers are now organising leagues for each game (tennis, golf, boxing, etc), and it’s getting very competitive. Here’s hoping that no-one slips in Wii edition of Resident Evil 4, or gives them a Wii Zapper, else they might get something of a shock.
