Jaleco unveils decorative Wii truck racing game
Dekotora Zenkoku Matsuri — it might sound like just another random Japanese pachinko simulator, but it’s not. It’s a brand new truck racing game from Jaleco, and I’d translate that title as Nationwide Decorated Truck Festival (if that helps). The game will be playable at next week’s Tokyo Game Show, and you can see Jaleco’s placeholder site here, but Dekotora also receives a double-page spread of love in this week’s Famitsu (see above, and click for a hi-res version).
The bulk of Dekotora’s game is racing trucks, one trucker versus another, along the highways of Japan (sounds remarkably similar to Genki’s Tokyo Highway Battle car racing games). There’s also a big helping of truck modification/decoration, too, mind (and it’s obviously more glamorous than writing ‘CLEAN ME’ in the dust-coating of LDV vans).
Dekotora will be released in Japan before the end of the year. No word on a UK publisher as yet.
