Final Fantasy fans should stop reading this and head on over to the official site of the Final Fantasy IV DS remake, which Square Enix opened today, where you can find lovely new character artwork and a couple of FFIV DS movies. There are downloadable thingies to follow in the coming weeks. (Bye!)

That leaves the rest of us here to contemplate the questionable necessity for another remake of Final Fantasy IV. What was wrong with Final Fantasy IV Advance (on the dear old GBA)? Nothing, that’s what. Still, as we’re in Final Fantasy’s 20th year, and 20 is a round number (and round numbers can be used as an excuse for gratuitous remaking), we’ll let it pass.
