Boogie struts its stuff on the DS - in 3D!
Boogie, EA’s karaoke-come-dance rhythm game was released less than a week ago in Europe. Today it was announced that the DS would be getting a version of the game. In its attempt to claim the rhythm game crown from the almighty Elite Beat Agents, Boogie has decided to come ‘atcha in 3D. The game will come bundled with special glasses that will make the action jump out of the screen. Well, not literally, and if my experience of 3D glasses is anything to go by, it’ll just end up being blurry, and make your eyes water.
Having played the Wii version, the DS game needs something special to even come close to those dancing agents of funk. I’ll be eager to see how they translate the dancing parts of the game, seeing how this was reliant on the Wii’s motion controls, and although a PS2 version has also been announced with the singing element in tact, this appears to be silenced on the DS. Surely the microphone is perfect for this, even in a basic fashion. The DS version does have mini-games, however (10 of them to be precise), and some of the tracks from the Wii original. I think I may just wait for the Elite Beat Agent’s second outing to get my rhythm-fix.
