ePetitions are all the rage at the moment. PSP owners got results after demanding that Capcom make a port of Resident Evil, and now Wii owners are getting in on the action with a signature drive of their own.

They’re pretty upset about Resident Evil 5 being exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Upset to the tune of nearly 18,000 signatures and counting. They want Capcom to port the game over to the Wii, and they’re going to keep stamping their feet until they get their way.

In our humble opinion, these eager beavers are gnawing at the wrong tree. Looking at some of the early screens for the game, there’s no way that the Wii can hope to replicate that kind of graphical quality. And we don’t want to play a title that’s simply a scaled down port from the more powerful consoles. Watching a C64 version of Street Fighter II is proof of the horrors that can occur.

Nope, far better for Capcom to focus on a Wii-specific game. Something like Umbrella Chronicles, perhaps?
