Okami arrives on the Wii (in Flash form)

Okami

We were rummaging about in the scrapheap of the Japanese corner of the Internet this morning when, much to our delight, we found that someone had programmed and uploaded a Wii Browser-friendly take on Capcom’s much-loved Okami! Hurrah, we thought: some saintly soul has done what Capcom should already be profiting from by now.

It turns out that the title (pictured above), which you can play here, is nothing more than a 30-second sprint of a brush ‘em up — a kind of diet version of the real Okami’s attack system. But still, the visual flavour of the game is surprisingly close to the washi designs of Clover Studio’s original PS2 game. Perhaps if Capcom sees this, it will realise how easy it could be to give Okami a genuine Wii port. Eh, Capcom?

Would be nice except that Capcom shut down Clover. So I don’t see them going out of there way to make the game now.
