EA promise to fix Madden ‘08 Wii online play problems
In a move we’re reluctantly predicting we’re going to see a lot more of, EA have promised to fix problems US Wii owners have been having with online play in Madden ‘08. Apparently, people have been experiencing issues within the full retail version of the game that ruin what’s meant to be a smooth experience. EA’s response has been to announce work on an update’ (or as is better known, a patch). Welcome to the twenty-first century.
Now, yes, we’re spitting in the face of a charitable act here, but are we stumbling towards that dark path where consoles games aren’t honed to perfection before release? Whether it’s because of scheduling, publisher pressure, oversights or whatever, we see enough of this on PC where nearly every major release is patched. Of course, the workaround for that has been beta testing - a way for developers to not have to pay wages to dedicated testers when they can give it to the stupidly grateful unwashed in an unfinished state for free - but at all times we want our games to just work. It doesn’t exactly bode well for the Wii’s fledgling online service, either. There goes our chance for Unreal Tournament 3 (wishful thinking).

I have a question that could you please email me the answer. I was beating an opponent really bad in Madden online. He offered a mercy request. I accepted the request. It says all stats will be recorded and the game will count. I did not recieve the win in my record. Will it come later or how come my win loss record was not updated?
