If you haven’t yet managed to try out Picross on the DS (or even on the Wii via WiiPicross), then you are missing out on one of the best puzzle games on the console. One of the game’s best features is its use of the Wi-Fi Connection. Not only can you battle against players from all over the world, but you can download additional puzzle packs from the big N themselves. For Free!

Now Nintendo Europe are offering you the chance to create a Picross puzzle of your own, and have it featured in a “Best of Europe” puzzle pack. The puzzles can be created via the DS, using the stylus to devise a fiendishly difficult Nonogram. Once you’re satisfied, the entry can be uploaded to the Picross servers. Entries have to be in by 27th August, and the best puzzles will be added to the pack, which will be available to download between 31st August and 7th September. After that you will be able to download the “Best of Japan” puzzle pack. The only prize is the knowledge that you’ve created a puzzle worthy of being shared with the world, but isn’t that worth it?
