We’d read reports that the Wii version of Geometry Wars wasn’t up to snuff, but through bitter tears we’ve persisted in the belief that Bizarre Creations would pull back from the brink. And lo, along comes this footage of the game on the DS, and things are looking significantly more positive.

As you can see in the video, the ship’s direction is controlled with the D-pad, whilst the direction of fire is directed with the stylus. And by golly it works a charm. Either the difficulty settings have been lowered, or the kid playing is a pro, but he’s clearly having fun with blasting wave upon wave of menacing neon shapes.

Though we’re not convinced of the merits of Geometry Wars on the Wii, we’ll definitely be saving our pennies for the DS version.
