Our friends over at IGN managed to tack down the big guns from Nintendo during E3 and asked them what every RPG fan would want to know, will we see another Zelda Game for the Wii?

According to Miyamoto, the signs are good too! A very real possibility that a new Zelda game will be released on the Wii because the console has a lot of potential yet to be explored. The producer added “It’s really hard to say because we’ve never had a Zelda that’s appeared so early in the life cycle of the system, so it’s definitely possible that there would be another Zelda on Wii. Of course, the challenge is that typically a Zelda game is something that takes three years to develop, so we’ll just have to wait and see”.

Director Aonuma agreed with Miyamoto’s statements but unfortunately he was a bit more vague regarding any future projects. He did confirm that his team has some ideas in the works but none have been approved yet.

So it would seem that a new Zelda game is certainly in the planning stage and that only time will tell if it will appear for Wii or do a console jump like Twilight Princess! Fingers crossed we will hear something more concrete sooner rather than later!
