E3 2007: Nintendo shows off Wii Fitness

Wii FitnessNintendo’s done it again with another weird add-on. This time it’s a Balance Board, and you’ll be doing yoga and press ups on the thing. Yes, it’s another game where you have to stand up and move around. This is NOT why we got into gaming.

Wii Fitness uses the Balance Board to sense your body position, translating this to movements on screen. Nintendo demonstrated this at its E3 conference last night by making on-screen men duck and dodge footballs, while its hilarious new promotional photos show women striking yoga poses, hot hula-hoop action and more.

Over 40 balance and exercise games will get you in shape, while Nintendo says Wii Fitness can check your Body Mass Index, even calculating your daily ‘Fitness Age’ to encourage you to play it day after day, until you’ve got a hot, buff Nintendo body.

Please consult with your doctor before purchasing any new Nintendo products.
