Portable screen add-on for Wii

centur02.jpg

This is perhaps the stupidest accessory yet invented for the Wii, even stupider then those tennis racket shaped add-ons for the Wii-mote. It’s a seven-inch LCD screen (with a built-in infrared sensor) that clips onto the console.

The reason it’s so stupid? Standing at a distance means you can’t see anything, but standing too close will dramatically limit your movement. Your granny won’t be so fond of Wii Sports if you repeatedly smack her upside the head.

Regardless, the thing retails for 14,800 Yen ($119), which is supposed to be pretty good value for a seven-inch LCD. If we haven’t managed to put you off, drop us a line and we can also tell you about this really interesting pyramid scheme we’ve started up.

Wow, you can’t play Wii Sports with grandma on this thing. Big deal. You CAN play many other Wii titles which require less movement than Wii sports (even with two players). You can also play all your GC/VC games where movement isn’t an issue.

The price isn’t even all that steep considering it costs the same as a pair of Wiimotes + Nunchuks.

This is the perfect travel accessory for the Wii. You can play it anywhere you can plug it in, including the car and some airplanes.

This is a good idea. They made a portable playstation, so why not make a poratble wii?

Not every wii game is like Wii sports. I don’t even enjoy wii sports all that much.
I think having this to play Super Smash Bros on while taking a road trip would be heavenly!

Don’t forget the large back catalogue of gamecube games too.

We have our Wii connected to the main TV in the lounge, but when the TV is in use my little brother can still play his kart games and Gamecube games using a wii and a mini screen.
