Datel’s My Mii Manager PC app sparks hopes for wider uses
Datel has just announced a new PC application called My Mii Manager. It lets you import and edit your Mii characters, and then share them with other Wii owners (I’m assuming this means it converts them into JPG images for emailing).
The app will cost £14.99 in the UK, and includes a USB Bluetooth receiver allowing you to use your Wiimote with your computer.
I’m not sure how appealing the package will be, but it got me thinking about wider uses for Miis beyond what Nintendo’s already doing on the Wii.
For example, it’d be nice to be able to easily export your Mii and use it on your MySpace, Bebo or Facebook profile. Or, indeed, in any service that uses pictures – imagine being able to paste animations of your Mii doing stuff into MSN Messenger.
This has already been done by WeeWorld, to which Nintendo’s Miis bear a striking resemblance. But it’d be nice to see Nintendo making this easier for its little cartoon avatars too.
Turning your Mii into a PC screensaver or wallpaper would be cool too, or something for your mobile phone. Nintendo hasn’t yet dipped its toes in the world of mobile gaming, but Mii-branded wallpapers and animated ringtones would surely be a hit – especially if they were personalised to your character.
In the meantime, applications like My Mii Manager will surely help. But I know plenty of people who’ve been taking digital photographs of their Mii on-screen in order to use elsewhere, so there’s clearly a demand for it.

can you re-enter the mii’s back into the wii, or does it only work one way?

Yes you can, so ypu can use this to download/ trade Mii’s online. I don’t know if there is a way to further modify them than is allowed on the Wii, however. I’d like to be able to edit in photoshop or something.

You sure Donald? If you’re a real freak for Mii avatars, then you can do the Print screen if it doesn’t do the JPEG export thing, and just save it and such. I’d use it for making sigs an avatars, and I REALLY want that BlueTooth receiver
