Your birthday means nothing to Mii

popped balloon on WiiWiiI was surprised to hear this little fact over at NintendoWiiFanBoy as it’s one of those things that you assume, but never actually verify. Seems that, even although you get the chance to enter birth dates at the mii creation screen, your birthday means nothing to your Nintendo Wii. Most people — and I suppose even I — expected something. A party in Mii Plaza perhaps? With all those roaming friends? A calendar entry? An email at least?

Nope on all counts. Your special day will come and go without so much as flicker of the pretty blue light on your console; the heartless robot that it is. There’s speculation that this is something that could be “fixed” (for want of a better word) in an update in the future otherwise this data would appear to be an unnecessary entry. So tell me, what would you like to see happen on your big day on Wii? And don’t say free VC points, that’s all that jelly and ice cream talking. You should cut down. Source. [JC]

there have been plenty of things that the developers have left out of this system, this is one of them.

    so…. in no particular order,

    Doak’s top ## Wiiquests

    - Dii-Vii-Dii player.
i own a dvd player, 79% of the world owns one. but that didnt stop me from trying to play one in the Wii. we dont need any fancy stuff, just a simple interface that plays DVD’s.

    - Cii-Dii player.
same problem. at least let me play mp3’s outside of the photo channel.

    - Praise Mii.
a stats page for how your mii’s are doing in certain games. it’s nice to get the wiimails about breaking records, but what good is that if no one can see my accomplishments but me. i want bragging rights.

    - Wiirc.
a chat channel, either to connect to my msn, or irc channels. if we want to get fancy with this, add Skype to the Wii. and plug a webcam into those unused USB’s in the back for video-conferencing.

    - Chiits.
not my idea, but a damn good one. a cheat code channel; i know that the VC manuals have the combos for street fighter in it (unlike the original manuals), but i want a channel to browse & tell me what sneaky things the software developers left behind for us to find.

    - Streaming audiio.
if the CD channel wont fly, please let me use my wii points to buy a subscription to music channels like on the satellite & cable networks.

oh yeah, get JAVA on that Opera browser. why it’s lacking, i will never know.

… and i appologize for all the “cutesy” titles. i couldnt help myself.

i think it would be cool if when you went to your mii plaza, if on your birthday, you were wearing a party hat, and all the other miis were holding gift, and there was confetti. And also only one persons b-day did this happen, there was one person who was the owner

YES, today is my Birthday and i got on my wii. I truly expected my mii t wear a party hat or somwething. But, i was confronted with an inconveinient truth. My Wii hates me and forgot my birthday. I should get like a polka dot shirt or a hat, or shoes or something!
