Ever wonder what Mario might look like in a gritty, urban setting? Tired of all the bright skies and innocence? Then this is for you! The above painting is by the hugely talented Jose “Emroca” Flores. You may have seen some of his stuff before; according to his website he’s a concept and storyboard artist at EA and his work has appeared in a bunch of magazines. [...] Tagged as “the communist Mario” this pretty cool flash clip caught my attention recently. The video at the time of writing was taking an age to load — probably because of the amount of diggs it was attracting — but it’s a nice little watch and is surely worth the wait for novelty value alone.
