Guitar Hero coming to Wii? Pleasepleasepleaseplease…
Okay, it’s not official. Yet. But it’s one step closer, judging by the positive noises coming out of publisher Red Octane, after Ninty US head-honcho Reggie Fils-Aime publicly spooged about the potential for a Wii Guitar Hero.
“The obvious answer would be yes, we’re interested, and how could you say no to Reggie?” Red Octane’s Dusty Welch tells MTV News. “With the transition onto the next-gen platform, it only makes sense for us to explore all the great opportunities available.”
Full credit to the journalist for pressing him further on how the Wii-mote could be used for a Guitar Hero game, too.
“Guitar Hero has always been about being the lead guitarist of a rock band,” Welch says. “We don’t see that changing anytime in the near future with a controller outside of a guitar-based shape, though what works best on one console might not work on the other, so it’s an item we would really have to research and test in depth before moving forward with anything.”
Fingers crossed. In a RAWK way, obviously.

[...] Stu, your wishes will be granted very shortly it seems, as Activision Publishing president and CEO Mike Griffith confirmed recently that Guitar Hero will be coming to the Wii at some point in the coming year. He commented “In fiscal 2008, we’ll double our offerings on DS and the Wii, including Spiderman, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero”. Yahooo! Obviously we’re hoping to be able to play the Super Mario Bros. theme tune on this game…doo-do doo-do doo-do, doo-doo! (via GameSpot). [...]
