Finetune radio adapted for Wii - “music on your wii starts here!”

Finetune - the site that allows you to listen to and create custom playlists by simply typing in the name of an artist or band - has recently had an overhaul to suit the Wii’s Opera browser (link). Complete with the big cute buttons you’d expect from a Wii-based site the service is actually very good. I’m sitting listening to the “Best of 2006 Alternative” featured playlist as I write this now; the tracks are fast to load, the site’s very pretty, what more could I ask?

There’s also the option to access any custom playlists that you’ve created yourself (using a PC) previously and a radio page which was down for the duration of my experimentation with it (due to high-demand: surely a good sign). There’s rumour that Nintendo may be working on a music feature themselves for the Wii console (I’ll believe it when I see it personally) but until that shows face this will definitely do the trick for any gamer who just NEEDS to play music through their console (another option would be to use Dot.Tunes). CD and MP3 players are ways of the past for them, this is their way of the future! Via 1up. [JC]
