Play iTunes songs on your Wii

dottunes.jpgFancy accessing the bulging iTunes library on your PC or Mac from your Wii? Well, you can, thanks to an application called Dot.Tunes.

You install it on your computer, and then use the Wii’s Opera browser to navigate to your collection and play songs. It’s unclear whether this includes protected songs bought from the iTunes Store, but it’s still a pretty cool feature.

That said, it’d be nice for Wii to have its own slick music-playing software, a bit like iTunes. Hopefully that’s something that Nintendo’s got up its sleeve for the future.

[...] There’s also the option to access any custom playlists that you’ve created yourself (using a PC) previously and a radio page which was down for the duration of my experimentation with it (due to high-demand: surely a good sign). There’s rumour that Nintendo may be working on a music feature themselves for the Wii console (I’ll believe it when I see it personally) but until that shows face this will definitely do the trick for any gamer who just NEEDS to play music through their console (another option would be to use Dot.Tunes). CD and MP3 players are ways of the past for them, this is their way of the future! Via 1up. [JC] [...]
