Replace Your Sensor Bar With Candles

On December 1st, 2006 by Katherine Hannaford

With concerns being voiced regarding the length of cable supplied with the new Wii sensor bar, a rather primitive solution has been stumbled upon by gamers across the pond. It seems that the bar - which is used by the wand controller to track movement - can be easily replaced by two standard wax candles (!) with no noticeable change in performance.

Although third-party cable extensions are expected in future, this could prove extremely useful (and fun) to players with home projection setups where their consoles and components are kept at too great a distance away from the display to function. It certainly adds a whole new level of novelty to Nintendo’s new console, promises to be a great party trick and it’s something that this gamer will be testing out just to see it with his own eyes.
