Why 2007 can’t come fast enough: No More Heroes

No More Heroes on WiiWii.tvAs big a fan I am of all the Nintendo cutesy characters and addictive mini-games sometimes I just wish I had a really meaty and more mature game to get my teeth into. No More Heroes is just such a game.

From the creators of (easily one of the best games on Nintendo Gamecube) Killer7 comes this stylish assassin-sim. The story revolves around Travis Touchdown (pictured) finding himself thrust into a world of murder and swordplay. After killing number eleven on the list of top assassins Travis then takes it upon himself to kill the remaining ten. It’s like mummy always said: “be the best”.

Details are still emerging so not a lot is known about the title yet. We know it uses a different engine from Killer7 though graphically the two are similar. We know that the game will be free-roaming and that although Travis uses a sword as a primary weapon, wiimote hand movements will only be used for special finishing moves and untangling sword locks. Other, standard, atacks will be button-based.

We know that the title is aimed at a wider audience than the developer’s last Nintendo title with less bad language and gore… Oh, and Travis also has a really cool motorbike (2700cc!).

Set in the city of Santa Destroy you can expect a GTA-like adventure. Solve puzzles, talk to characters and explore to find your next target. You even have to make money (because it makes the world go round in Destroy too). I recommend that you keep an eye on this title, I’ll certainly be mentioning it again when more is known.
