Download the Wii’s Opera browser from this Friday
It’s official, then. Nintendo of Europe says we can download a “free trial version” of the Opera Web browser for Wii from this Friday, December 22nd. This will activate the Internet channel on the Wii home page, and let you surf the internetweb in glorious telly-vision.
However, the “final version” of the browser won’t be available until the end of March 2007, according to Nintendo, although it will be free to download until the end of June, after which it’ll cost 500 points from the Wii Shop. I’m not sure how the full version will differ from the trial version, mind.
Oh, and there’s more good news. The Forecast Channel, which provides weather info, is going live… today! It lets you check whether the sun is shining in Timbuctoo via a slinky 3D globe. The data is being provided by Weathernews, apparently.
