GTA Wii?
According to Planet Grand Theft Auto Reggie Fils-Aime (President of Nintendo America and all-round good guy) said recently on an American TV show that Nintendo has “done all it can to persuade Take-Two Interactive Software to bring the Grand Theft Auto franchise to Nintendo consoles”. It’s now up to the publisher to make the final decision.
We’ve already seen a GTA game on the Game Boy Advance so I guess the idea’s not as crazy as it first seems. And with the success of the boxing in Wii Sports I can actually picture using the two controllers to beat up innocent passers-by. Still, the blood, swearing and prostitute-health-action (that’s sex btw) seems a little out of place on a Nintendo console… Doesn’t it? Via Game|Life.

Hardly… Now a days you see more adults playing the Wii than kids. So why not?…

I think that they should try it even though it is just a little “out of place” for Nintendo to do such a drastic step in changing their audiences. PaulC was right. You do see more adults playing the Wii than kids. Even if kids were playing it more they probably shouldn’t play it because they would break the controllers if they aren’t careful. Also it would break the stereo-type about Nintendo(That their games are for little kids.) I don’t know. It seems like a good idea if you kinda think about it. What do you think????

I like the idea of a gta game on the wii, be it no. 4 or one of the sequels of no. 4. However something nintendo must have picked up on is the very bad press they would get from not only having such a violent game on their console but one which will most likely have you chopping cops heads off with a katana using a movement duplicating that of the weapon in question. Sure many gamers will usually just lie in bed or sit down and play the game, but there is a minority who will swing the wii remote realistatically to lop of a cops head or deliver the fatal punch to an old womans head. When activists realise this they’ll have field day tearing up nintendos reputation by saying graphics are one thing but movements which duplicate the actions are worse. It doesn’t matter what you think, parents and politicians will want this game off the shelves. So while it would be great don’t get you’re hopes up.

I think they should because if wii starts making games like gta the nintendo consel would be up there with the xbox and playstation. for instince look how much money sony and microsoft made off of call of duty 4. wii didnt make a game lik that and is not up there. i love wii so i think they should make a game lik dat.

Doesn’t look like there will be a GTA on the Wii anytime soon. They sure as hell won’t be able to port GTA 4 over unless they turn a lot of things down.
So the only chance I can really see the Wii getting a GTA is if Rockstar decides to make one from the ground up.
