Wiimote strap taken to whole new levels
With fears over wiimote straps reaching breaking point (get it?) far across the sea in the States some rather handy gamer has taken the reinforced wrist strap concept to a whole new level. You can see the result of his efforts above; a wii controller that would look at home in any prison or detention facility. Let’s just hope he doesn’t lose the keys. Via Digg.

[...] EDIT - the BBC story has now changed to say Nintendo is offering to replace any broken Wii-mote straps. Not quite the same. But all new Wii-motes will come with a stronger strap. So there’s no recall, but if yours snaps, you can ask for a new one. Sorted. Either way, go careful on the enthusiastic Wii Sports Tennis backhands, kids. [...] I think things are getting a little out of hand now. According to Kotaku and the Play-Nintendo boards some gamers recently received a third generation replacement strap for their wiimotes. As did the second version of the strap, this one boasts to be both thicker and longer than it’s predecessor. Suddenly this post doesn’t seem so far-fetched.
