Nintendo Wii Launch In London, Thursday 7th December

wiicrowd.jpgObviously something momentous happened at midnight last Thursday night, which will go down in the pages of history - the UK Wii launch, silly! Unfortunately Stu and I couldn’t attend the ‘do at HMV, Oxford Street, as we had our Shiny Christmas party to booze at, but we’ve found some pritty, pritty pictures of fanboys queuing up on the high street, just to make our extended hangovers all the more merry. Take a look underneath for some more details on the launch; photos; and all the cool freebies those crazy kids picked up. We’re off to nurse our throbbing temples now, and throw up in the office loo, sob!wii1.jpgAccording to sources, the queue outside Game, also on Oxford Street, was much larger than outside HMV, who had the Nintendo-sponsored launch party - some could say the more eager fanboys just wanted a bit of wham, bam, thankyou mam, instead of hanging around gawking at ‘celebrities’ like Pat Cash and Nell McAndrew (pictured). The first chap in the queue outside HMV was Marwan Elgamal, who as you can see, picked up a copy of Zelda: Twilight Princess as well as the console, having started queuing at 5pm on Tuesday. Apparently HMV told him to leave at 9am on Thursday morning, but wii2.jpg‘Nintendo called [him] and said I should stay. I’m loving the experience. The atmosphere has been amazing’.There’s a fair few fan videos up on YouTube, as you’d imagine, the usual waiting in line; unpacking the console; playing with Miis; and, err…Playing the games, of course!
