Normal TV? Pah! Mine hasn’t been used for the last month, as I’ve been glued to YouTube instead soaking up all the details on Wii I can find. Obviously, from next Friday, I’ll be back in the living room once my console arrives.

But in the meantime, here’s 20 videos that I’d pick out as showing why Wii is worth getting excited about.

1. The ultimate trailer for The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This tells you all you need to know.

2. Drums. I’ve waited my whole life for a console that would let me play drums like Animal Out Of The Muppets. Wii is it. Look!

3. US TV ad. It features a couple of Japanese blokes roaming the streets bringing Wii joy to families. I assume that’s not an actual marketing tactic, mind.

4. Trailer for Ubisoft’s Red Steel, the first-person-shooter where guns and big swords live together in bloody harmony.

5. Kotaku’s excellent interview with Mr Nintendo himself, Shigeru Miyamoto. Bow down, folks. To Mr Miyamoto, I mean. Although Kotaku are pretty cool too.

6. Wii Sports on demonstration. Proves why, if there’s ever a Wii Olympics, the Germans won’t be troubling the medal podium.

7. The Wii hardware explained by a chap from IGN. Good work!

8. Super Mario Galaxy trailer. The game’s coming next year, and takes squeaky-voiced plumbing to a new level.

9. Shigsy again, this time conducting a Zelda song using just the Wii-mote and a very smart suit.

10. Virtual Console downloading in action, shown by the man with the whizziest-looking TV in the world. I want it.

11. This video of the Smash My… guys trashing a Wii won’t make you want to buy the console, necessarily. But it will give you a guilty laugh.

12. More minigames from WarioWare Smooth Moves, which promises to be the most fun you can have with a Wii-mote (without being arrested in six US states).

13. More explanation of how to use two candles to replace your Wii sensor bar. Around the world, candle shops are wondering why the sudden influx of beanie-hatted gamers…

14. Bleach trailer. Japanese animated fighty game with enormous swords. Rawk.

15. Powerful evidence for why you shouldn’t play Wii with slippy hands.

16. Another trailer, this time for next year’s Sonic game on Wii. Nippy.

17. Good general trailer for Wii games and gaming, complete with those natty Japanese fellas dressed all in white, who live in minimalist white apartments. Look at your ratty old sofa and feel ashamed…

18. Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz trailer, showing a few minigames, one of the bosses, and bonus monkey antics.

19. Someone hacks his Wii Shop to redirect to Google as the homepage! And it works! Except you can’t type in search terms! So it’s useless!

20. EA is bringing The Sims to Wii. Check this short video of some of the characters.
